Like all of our beers, Ohio-grown malted barley is at the heart of our holiday offering.
This wee heavy Scotch ale is built upon our brewmaster’s long-standing recipe then cold-infused with almost 2lbs. per barrel of 16 traditional (cinnamon, nutmeg) and not-so-traditional (heather tips, cardamom) spices. The beer sits on those spices for anywhere from 10 to 20 days as it is evaluated daily until it has reached just the right softness and subtlety then moved at 0° to the package.
With or without a cinnamon-sugar rim, Yuletide is properly served with a cranberry or two skewered by a sprig of rosemary.
Each of the world’s great brewing cultures have a beer style they call their own. In Burton it’s Pale Ale; Munich reveres the dunkel and spiced holiday ales are held as sacred in Northeast Ohio. Our yule offering stands among the least timid of its bretheren and is properly served garnished with two cranberries skewered by a sprig of rosemary laid across the rim of a tulip glass. This beer is crafted to evoke the cozy warmth of winter nights by the fire, the laughter of family and friends, and the joy of the season. Whether sipped slowly in good company or shared in celebration, this holiday spiced beer is a tribute to the timeless spirit of the season.
