The first documented use of the phrase ‘brideale’ (and thus the modern word ‘bridal’) appears in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle published in 1075 A.D.—over 100 years before ‘bridal’ was adopted to describe something belonging to a bride or wedding. ‘Brideale’ referred to the wedding feast and the special beer that was brewed to drink during the celebration.
Our Marriage Parfait (which is French for ‘Perfect Marriage’) was brewed in honor of the wedding of our brewmaster’s firstborn daughter, Abbey, to her husband Josh Smukal on August 31, 2024.
